The Progress Report is the midpoint check on your project. It answers four questions:
This is deliberately a working document, not a polished paper. Preliminary results that turn out to be wrong are fine — and saying so explicitly is better than hiding it. The point is to surface problems while there is still time to fix them.
Describe the methods each team member is applying, and justify them against your research question rather than in the abstract.
Include:
A concrete account of what is actually done — data acquired, cleaned, joined; models fitted; assumptions checked.
What you have found so far. Include the numbers and the visuals, with enough interpretation that a reader knows what to make of them.
What is not working. Data you could not get, models that will not converge, assumptions that fail, teammates' schedules that do not line up.
What is left, who is doing it, and by when. Work backward from the Final Report deadline (Dec 13, 2026, 11:59 PM US Eastern Time).
