Deliverable 2: Progress Report

Overview

The Progress Report is the midpoint check on your project. It answers four questions:

  1. What analytical approaches are you planning, and why do they fit your research question?
  2. What have you completed so far?
  3. What have you found so far, even if it is inconclusive?
  4. What is left, and what is your timeline for finishing it?

This is deliberately a working document, not a polished paper. Preliminary results that turn out to be wrong are fine — and saying so explicitly is better than hiding it. The point is to surface problems while there is still time to fix them.

Your Progress Report should follow directly from your Proposal & EDA. If your exploratory analysis changed your thinking about the research question or the methods, say so and explain why — that is a sign the exploration did its job, not a failure.
